My Honey Garlic Grilled Salmon is one of those dishes you eat where you can’t really carry a conversation because you’re too busy saying, “OMG!” every other bite. It’s that good! Obviously these are pretty casual photos that I took while cooking dinner for myself. I was not expecting to blog it but it was so perfect, I just had to share the recipe with you guys!
I wrote this up for two but this recipe easily doubles. The ratio is 1 Tbsp butter, 1 Tbsp honey, and 1 garlic clove per piece of salmon. I actually used a 4-oz salmon filet so mine was done after just ten minutes but a 6-oz filet will take a few more minutes and of course an 8-oz filet could take up to fifteen minutes. And yes, you could do this salmon foil packet method in an oven.
Honey Garlic Grilled Salmon
2 6-oz salmon filets
Sea salt, pepper
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 Tbsp honey
2 garlic cloves
- Preheat grill or oven to about 350 degrees. Cut two pieces of aluminum foil and spray with non-stick cooking oil.
- Lay a salmon fillet on each piece of foil. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a small sauce pan, melt together butter, honey, and garlic until the mixture bubbles and thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Pour sauce over salmon. Securely wrap each foil packet so that the juices don’t run out while cooking.
- Toss foil packets on the preheated grill or in the oven and cook for about 10-15 minutes, until salmon can be easily flaked with a fork. Twelve is usually the sweet spot but start checking it after ten. Remove foil packets from the grill and let rest in the packet for a couple of minutes. You can serve it right in the packet if you want to be casual!
