Anton to compete in F4 race in Malaysia

BAGUIO CITY — Iñigo Anton, the country's top motorsport rider today, will see action in the 2025 Formula 4 Southeast Asian Championship in Malaysia next week.

The Toyota Gazoo Racing Endurance Race champion will compete against foreign racers at the Sepang International Circuit starting May 4, 2025

The pride of Baguio City, in his social media post, announced he will be coached by former F1 driver Alex Yoong under BlackArts Racing.

"This will be my first full season in Formula Cars and I'm looking forward to honing my skills and learning from the best in the region," Anton said.

Anton thanked his main benefactor, Motul Philippines Infiniteserv, for supporting him in his biggest race yet. He likewise cited Motul Philippines top honcho Charlie Ong for pushing him to his limit.

Anton has clinched back-to-back P1 placements in the rookie class in round four of the F4 Australian Championship in Sepang, Malaysia, in September 2024.

The University of Baguio student was also conferred the 2024 Motorsport Achievement Award by the Golden Wheel Awards Foundation Inc.

The recognition highlights his outstanding contributions and achievements in motorsport, bringing pride to the Philippines.

In 2022, he made history by winning three championships in a single year, earning titles as the TGR Vios Cup Super-Sporting champion, Radical Philippines champion, and being recognized as AAP Driver of the Year for Circuit Racing after topping the Philippine GT championship.

Additionally, he represented the Philippines as the sole participant in the inaugural Olympic Esports Competition in Motorsports held in Singapore, finishing as a finalist among the top 10 Gran Turismo racers globally.

Anton has firmly positioned himself as one of the most skilled and versatile Filipino race car drivers.
