Brownlee saves the day as Ginebra edges TNT, ties series at 1-1

MANILA, Philippines — Justin Brownlee delivered a clutch basket followed by two important free throws as Barangay Ginebra nipped TNT, 71-70 to tie the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup Finals series at 1-1 on Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The resident Ginebra reinforcement scored a difficult reverse layup, then made what proved to be the go-ahead foul shots to rescue the Gin Kings from the jaws of defeat.
Brownlee finished with 35 points and 11 rebounds, while Scottie Thompson added an all-around effort of 16 markers, 12 boards and seven assists for Ginebra, which averted a 0-2 series hole.
TNT managed to overcome a Finals-low 19 points in the first half by staging a daring comeback in the second half.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led TNT with 25 points and 15 rebounds, Rey Nambatac had 14, while Roger Pogoy chipped in 11.
Game 3 is scheduled this Wednesday.
