Cebu to host Women's VNL in 2026, 2027

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines is set to host the Women's Volleyball Nations League (VNL) for two consecutive years, 2026 and 2027, with Cebu as the designated venue.
This announcement was made by Ramon "Tats" Suzara, FIVB Executive Vice President and AVC President.
Following the country's successful hosting of the 2025 AVC Champions League in Manila, Suzara revealed that Cebu, known as the Queen City of the South, will be the hub for VNL action in the coming years.
"We're bringing VNL to Cebu, Women's VNL in 2026 and 2027. So this is a big thing for us, we're all going to Cebu, because there's a new building and a new [soon to rise] arena," said Suzara
"You know, Cebu fans are really crazy, they are very hungry. That's my home province," he shared his excitement.
Philippines hosted the Women's VNL in 2022 at the Araneta Coliseum and the men's edition in 2024.
Despite the hosting of the women's VNL in the country, Suzara clarified that the Alas Pilipinas women's team does not guarantee a slot in the tournament, as only the top 16 volleyball teams in the world will see action.
Making another history, the Philippines is also gearing up in hosting the FIVB Men's World Championship 2025 in September.
In 2025, Asia hosts a total of seven volleyball events: 2025 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship in Thailand, 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women's Under-21 World Championship in Indonesia, 2025 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship in China, 2025 FIVB Boys' U19 World Championship in Uzbekistan, and 2024 Beach Volleyball World in Adelaide.
