Fiery Cool Smashers dispatch Crossovers to take Game 1 of PVL QF series

MANILA, Philippines — Creamline asserted its dominance over Chery Tiggo, 25-10, 27-25, 25-21, to draw first blood in the quarterfinals of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday.
Alyssa Valdez led Creamline with 16 attack points on a 64-percent attacking efficiency.
The 10-time PVL champions survived the Crossovers in the second frame after overcoming a three-point deficit. 20-23.
Creamline forced the match to three deadlocks, 25-all, and Chery Tiggo committed a costly rotation error that gave the No.1 team gain the set point advantage, 26-25.
Shaya Adorador tried to equalize the match, but she was blocked by Pangs Panaga, 27-25, allowing the Cool Smasher gain a 2-0 set advantage.
In the third frame, Creamline had a five-point advantage, 22-17, but Chery Tiggo pulled a 3-0 run to move closer, 22-20.
Ella De Jesus gave away a free point after a service error, but Creamline retaliated with a 3-0 run of its own as Tots Carlos hammered a kill for a match point advantage, and Ara Galang committed an attack error, allowing Creamline to win via sweep.
