JFF audit removes long-standing ‘going concern qualification’

Kingston, Jamaica— The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) says a 2024 audit conducted by the federation has deemed it to be in good financial standing, removing the 'going concern qualification' which has plagued the JFF for many years.

JFF, in a media release on Tuesday, announced the completion of the audit, which is now accessible on the JFF’s website.

“I am pleased not only that the JFF continues to improve its financial position but also that the auditor has seen it fit to remove the long-standing Going Concern qualification. It is important that we continue on this path, as optimal football development can only occur with a strong JFF,” said General Secretary of the JFF Dennis Chung, reacting to the completed audit.

A "going concern qualification" in accounting refers to an auditor's opinion that raises substantial doubt about a company's ability to continue operating in the foreseeable future.

It also refers to a caution that the company could face financial difficulties within the next 12 months.
