Johann Chua pockets 2 titles in Vietnam

(UPDATE) FILIPINO billiard sensation Johann "Bad Koi" Chua showcased his remarkable skill, claiming two titles in Vietnam tournaments within a week.

Chua triumphed in the 2025 Dragon Billboard Pro Series, defeating Nguyen Truong Quoc of Vietnam, 13-7, in the finals.

Earlier, he won the 2025 Hoang Phu Tho Pool Arena Open after downing another Vietnamese Dung Dau Moi in the championship round via a 13-8 decision.

The champion cue artist credited his success to the support of Filipinos.

"Thank you to all Filipinos for standing behind me and our athletes," he shared on social media, accompanied by a salute emoji.

Chua concluded his Vietnam tournament run with a fifth-place finish in the Sky Arena Open.

The Filipino pool player had an eventful stint, competing in four tournaments from April 3 to 14.

He also secured a silver medal in the 99 Blackmyth Tournament 2025, narrowly losing 13-12 to Vietnamese Ta Van Linh on April 3.

Chua gained valuable insights from his Vietnam campaign.

"Four tournaments in less than two weeks pushed me to improve my focus and stamina," Chua shared. "I'll be back soon. Keep fighting, don't give up," he encouraged his followers.
