La Salle downs UST to arrange a championship showdown with NU in UAAP women's volley
MANILA, Philippines — DLSU Lady Spikers is back in the Finals.
After settling for a bronze finish last season, DLSU is now headed to the Finals after defeating UST in four sets, 25-22, 11-25, 21-25, 25-21, in the semifinals of the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum.
DLSU displayed its blocking specialty after mounting 11 blocks, while UST only made two.
Angel Canino scored 19 points to lead the Lady Spikers, while Shevana Laput and Amie Provido added 11 markers each.
Angge Poyos led UST with 22 points.
DLSU will face defending champion National University in the best-of-three Finals.
This is DLSU and NU's third Finals showdown with the Lady Bulldogs winning in Season 84 the the Lady Spikers ruling the Season 85.
