La Salle recovers from 2nd set stumble against UE, scores first back-to-back wins

MANILA, Philippines — The De La Salle Lady Spikers recovered from a second set collapse to defeat the UE Lady Warriors, 25-12, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17, at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday to finally get a winning run going in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament.
Jyne Soreno proved to be the spark plug La Salle needed as she started in the third and fourth sets to come up with 12 points, scoring the bulk of it in the third frame.
Soreno added seven excellent digs to her name while it was business as usual for Angel Canino, who banged 20 points, 10 digs, and nine receptions for the third-running Lady Spikers who rose to 3-2.
Van Bangayan smashed 17 points and logged 11 excellent digs for the Lady Warriors, who stayed winless at 0-6.
