Lady Bulldogs fend off tough-fighting Tamaraws to stay perfect

MANILA, Philippines — The NU Lady Bulldogs aced an early test as the defending champs came back from a 1-2 set disadvantage to claim a 25-15, 23-25, 24-26, 25-23, 15-8 win against the FEU Lady Tamaraws at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, staying perfect at 3-0 in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament.
Alyssa Solomon made sure NU wouldn't break in FEU's brave act as she pumped 23 points on 19 attacks and four blocks all the while logging four excellent digs.
Vange Alinsug likewise delivered, racking up 19 points and 15 excellent receptions for the Lady Bulldogs who solidified their hold of the top spot.
Reigning MVP Bella Belen also came through as she banged 13 points including the clincher on top of 12 digs and four receptions.
After a 3-3 deadlock, the Lady Bulldogs barked a 5-0 run to take an 8-3 lead and stayed in control for the rest of the way.
Jean Asis banged 20 points for FEU which dropped to 1-2.
