Perpetual Help eyes 6-0 start in women's volleyball

University of Perpetual Help aims for its sixth victory in as many starts when it battles dangerous San Sebastian College at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, in the women's volleyball tournament of NCAA Season 100 at the Jose Rizal University gym in Mandaluyong City.

Game time is 11 a.m.The Lady Altas of coach Sandy Rieta currently leads the 10-team league with a clean 5-0 record.

The Lady Stags, on the other hand, are fourth in the team standings with a 3-1 card.Rieta will again rely on setter Fianne Ariola, Shaila Omipon, Winnie Bedaña, Daizerlyn Uy, Pauline Reyes, Camille Bustamante and rookie Jemalyn Menor as the Lady Altas make a run for their fourth league championship this season.The Las Piñas City-based team, which claimed the NCAA title from 2012 to 2014, is fresh from a three-set victory over Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) last Saturday.In that game, Bedaña, Uy and Omipon combined to scored 34 points for Perpetual Help.Meanwhile, men's defending champion Perpetual Help Altas will gun for their fifth win in six games when they face the San Sebastian Stags (1-3) at 9 a.m.In other games the EAC Lady General (1-4) take on the Letran Lady Knights (4-0) at 1 p.m. and their male counterparts will clash at 3 p.m.

The Generals carry a 3-2 card while the Knights have a 2-2 record entering the game.
