PLDT sweeps Australia's Queensland for winning start in AVC Champions League
MANILA, Philippines — PLDT swept Australia's Queensland Pirates, 25-19, 25-12, 25-12, at the PhilSports Arena on Sunday for a winning start at the AVC Women's Champions League.
Savi Davison banged 14 points and logged eight digs to lead the High Speed Hitters, who gained the lead in Pool D standings.
Making her Philippine return, former Petro Gazz import Wilma Salas notched 10 points and 15 digs to aid PLDT this time around.
Alisha Stevens racked up eight points and seven digs for the Pirates, who started strong with a 6-1 run but faltered for the rest of the way against the Philippine side.
