PLDT sweeps ZUS to secure No. 4 seed in PVL AFC

MANILA, Philippines — PLDT went full speed and quickly dispatched ZUS, 25-20 25-16, 25-15, to seal the fourth seed of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference at City Paasa Arena in Iloilo on Saturday.
The High Speed Hitters will enter the qualification round with much confidence as they finished the first stage with a four-game winning spree, and with a remarkable performance after ending Creamline's 19-game winning streak — to now sweeping ZUS.
This allowed PLDT tally an 8-3 win-loss card, enough to be slated fourth.
Holding a 2-0 set advantage, PLDT trailed away early in the third frame after an 18-10 lead, with Savi Davison leading her squad with a 10-3 run.
ZUS tried to fight back after scoring three consecutive kills capped by Thea Gagate's kill block, 18-13.
However, the High Speed Hitters responded with a 6-1 run as Ara Galang's services made the Thunderbelles struggle to orchestrate an offensive play, 24-14.
Mich Gamit scored a quick to put a fight for ZUS, but Majoy Baron finished the match with a fiery middle attack, 25-15.
Team captain Kath Arado took care of PLDT's floor defense after tallying 13 excellent digs.
ZUS finished the first round with a 4-7 win-loss card (9th seed), and will face PLDT once more in the next stage of the conference.
