PNVF confident in FIVB Men's Worlds hosting

PHILIPPINE National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) president Ramon "Tats" Suzara, also an FIVB executive president, said preparations for the 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championships are running smoothly, as the Philippines gears up to make history by hosting the tournament in September.

The Alas Pilipinas men's national team will make its debut against the world's best, competing against the top 31 teams globally.

"All systems are in place, we are just waiting for the government money to be release. Because the government is all out in supporting, same with the private sectors," Suzara said.

With experience from the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Suzara is optimistic about the Philippines' hosting of the Men's World Championship.

"I think hosting any sport of the World Championships, the Philippines can really do it. It's a matter of being creative. I know how FIBA had a draw, and they have artists. But this one, it's very different," he said. "I think volleyball is friendly ... Again, as I said, our strongest point is the engagement. We are the best, one of the best fans in the world."

A 100-day countdown to the 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championships will kick off on June 10 to 12.

The opening will also feature a K-pop group Boynextdoor to draw more fans.

The FIVB Men's World Championship is slated on Sept. 12 to 25.
