PNVF urges Van Sickle, Phillips to complete federation transfer requirements

MANILA, Philippines — Boosting Alas Pilipinas' lineup, PNVF President Tats Suzara pushes for the transfer of Brooke Van Sickle and MJ Phillips, urging them to complete the necessary requirements.
The Filipino-American players had expressed interest in joining the national team after their standout performance in the AVC Champions League and PVL.
Van Sickle is a two-time All-Filipino Conference Most Valuable Player (MVP), while Phillips is a three-time Best Middle Blocker in the league. Suzara supports the transfer, provided all requirements are met.
"I saw a press release that they're willing to join the national team. But just to make it clear, their management, just a follow up in their requirements, because our role is to process this with the FIVB. But until they submit the requirements," Suzara said during the FIVB Men's World Championship and MVP Group partnership press conference at the Meralco Lighthouse. Suzara clarified that the required documents proving the two Filipino-Americans' two-year residency in the Philippines are still needed to finalize the federation transfer.
"So until they submit these requirements, we will request the US Federation to change the federation, then the FIVB will approve," he added. "I would like to ask for the help of the management, Petro Gazz, to support the requirements, which are very important. The legal department will check this. And I am hoping that these requirements will be met, and for them to be part of the national team." Suzara also added that the Alas Pilipinas will start to train next week.
"The sooner, the better so that they can be part of the national team. Alas will train next week, and the others can join [UAAP players] on May. They will join the AVC Nations Cup in Vietnam, and there's also the Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam and Bangkok."
