Portugal Shines at TTR Roadshow with Authentic Flavours and Inspiring Travel Opportunities

The TTR Portugal Roadshow, in association with Visit Portugal, is bringing a slice of Portuguese culture, cuisine, and charm to Ireland this week, showcasing the country’s diverse travel offerings to a captivated audience of travel professionals.
The roadshow started in Dublin last night in Smock Alley Theatre.
With 25 Portuguese suppliers in attendance, the event gave travel agents a unique opportunity to meet representatives from across Portugal’s regions — from sun-drenched beaches to lush wine valleys — all under one roof. The event opened with updates from Carlos Oliveira, Director of Visit Portugal, who highlighted the growing appeal of the region with its tranquil landscapes, heritage towns, and rich gastronomy. He was followed by representatives from various regions, who shared exciting developments, from new tourism infrastructure to off-the-beaten-track experiences perfect for Irish travellers seeking authenticity.
Clare Dunne, CEO of the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA), spoke to everyone with enthusiasm about the upcoming ITAA Conference in October 2025, which is set to take place in Centro, Portugal. She underlined the strong and long-standing travel relationship between Ireland and Portugal and praised the roadshow for further strengthening these bonds.
Guests were treated to an exclusive culinary experience, featuring authentic Portuguese dishes crafted by visiting chefs, including Portugal’s beloved Pastel de Nata, the sweet custard tart that has won hearts around the globe.
Portugal remains one of Europe’s most enticing destinations, offering:
- Over 850km of stunning coastline with Blue Flag beaches ideal for sunseekers and surfers alike
- Some of the best golf courses in Europe, particularly in the Algarve UNESCO-listed cultural sites, including monasteries, castles, and historic city centres. A thriving wine and gastronomy scene, from the Douro Valley to Alentejo’s vineyards
