Rhythm Buzz poised for victory in World Vet Day Trophy

The Vincent Atkinson-conditioned Rhythm Buzz (Buzz Nightmare – River Rhythm) is looking formidable as he takes on 11 rivals in the $1.25-million World Vet Day Trophy, the main attraction on the afternoon’s nine-race card at Caymanas Park.

After a four-month break, Rhythm Buzz made his seasonal debut on April 6, finishing sixth over five furlongs (1,000m) straight. Although he was outsprinted, placing five lengths behind winner Champion Bubbler, the five-year-old bay horse showed promising signs. Champion Bubbler won in a time of 59.3 seconds, while Rhythm Buzz pulled up in 1:00.3.

However, that outing can be seen as a pipe opener, allowing him to shake off the rust and get back to his winning ways here. Since his debut run, Rhythm Buzz has been training impeccably, showcasing his excellent form and preparation for this event. On April 20, he galloped seven furlongs (1,400m) in a decent time of 1:29.2, with six furlongs (1,200m) done in another time of 1:14.1. This performance is a clear indication that Rhythm Buzz is in top form and ready to take on the competition.

With champion jockey Raddesh Roman aboard, replacing Delroy Beharie, Rhythm Buzz’s connections are confident in his abilities. Roman’s expertise will undoubtedly be an asset to the horse, and his tactical riding skills will play a crucial role in navigating the field and securing a winning position.

Rhythm Buzz’s experience and class give him an edge over his competitors. He has defeated stronger rivals in the past, and Rhythm Buzz has what it takes to win big here. The move up to one mile for this trophy suits him well, and his training suggests he’s poised for a big performance.

The Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upwards is positioned as the final event on the day with a post time 5:35 pm. First race is 12:15 pm.

The World Vet Day Trophy feature race has a clear favourite and that’s Rhythm Buzz, but the real excitement lies in predicting the order of the rest of the field. With several horses of similar abilities, the battle for second, third, fourth, and fifth place is anyone’s game.

Divine Force, Mr Senator, Further and Beyond, Perfect Brew, Fearless Soul, and Sheer Delight are all in contention for second place. Each of these horses has shown promise, and it will be interesting to see how they perform against the likely winner.

Divine Force has been running impressively lately. He might appreciate the distance and make a strong finish.

Consistently earning, Mr Senator could find himself in the money once again.

After a lacklustre performance in the Ian Levy Cup on April 5 where he finished down the track,
Further and Beyond might step up here, especially since dropping in grade.

Prefect Brew has been training really well like a horse on a mission coming into this race. Perfect Brew is going to enjoy the conditions here and should make a bold bid for top honours.

Fearless Soul finished a good third behind Mahogany and Unbelievable Force on April 21. He is expected to perform well despite a quick return.

Sheer Delight was utdone by Fearless Force over seven furlongs on April 12. He should run well here again and could be in the running for first place.

The exotic bets will be a thrilling aspect of this race, with multiple possible combinations. Will Divine Force’s recent form be enough to secure second? Can Mr Senator’s consistency pay off? Or will Further and Beyond’s drop in grade give him an edge? Perfect Brew’s training suggests he’s ready to shine, while Fearless Soul’s quick return might not hinder his chances. Sheer Delight’s capability could also lead to a strong finish.

The uncertainty surrounding the second-string horses makes this race even more captivating. Who will emerge as the top challenger, and how will the rest of the field fare? The World Vet Day Trophy promises to deliver exciting racing action.
