Sari Lazaro unveils summer collection at Rockwell pop-up store

Celebrated Filipino designer Sari Lazaro returns to Power Plant Mall with a fresh summer collection and her second pop-up store, now open through April 29.
Lazaro, who first had a pop-up at the same mall in 2024, is known for her elegant yet playful take on Filipino fashion. This time, her latest ready-to-wear line embraces the sunny season with bold prints, earthy tones, and a celebration of the Filipino spirit. It also marks a new direction for the designer, who is venturing deeper into ready-to-wear after years of focusing on bespoke pieces through her atelier.
Previously showcasing her work at curated events like ArteFino, Lazaro said launching a full ready-to-wear line gave her greater artistic freedom. "I used to do made-to-order so that's like a collaboration between me and the client. But this one, I have more freedom to create from the patterns fabrics and embroidery. I have more creative freedom, and I enjoy it — I really enjoy ready-to-wear," Lazaro shared in a media interview during the store's opening.
The new collection highlights Lazaro's evolving aesthetic, offering effortless day-to-night pieces with tropical flair and vibrant colors which according to her, is inspired from the vibrant spirit and joyful demeanor of the Filipino people.
"It's actually the spirit of Filipino people — when they go through dark times, they're still very generally happy. That's what I want to exude in my collection so I have pieces in yellow, blue, red and a lot of prints," she said.
Beyond aesthetics, the collection maintains a commitment to Filipino craftsmanship. Many of the pieces incorporate locally made woven textiles, which have become a hallmark of the Sari Lazaro label.
"To me, these textiles represent not just art, but a way of life and a deep part of our culture — something we as Filipinos can be incredibly proud of," Lazaro said.
After showcasing Filipino textiles in fashion shows in Doha and Paris, Lazaro has made it a point to include them in every collection as a tribute to Filipino artisans.
The collection is designed for modern women who value both style and substance.
"Women who know what they want but are not afraid of trying new styles. I want them to feel happy, content, proud and confident within themselves," Lazaro added. The Sari Lazaro Label pop-up store is located at R2, Power Plant Mall, Makati City.
