Savi Davison ties career-high to help PLDT fend off ZUS

MANILA, Philippines — Savi Davison made another monstrous performance after churning out 34 points to lift PLDT past ZUS, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 26-24, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday.
Davison first made a career-high of 34 points in a five-set win against Creamline in the preliminaries, and replicated it today to propel her team to book the last spot in the quaterfinals.
The Filipino-Canadian's 34 points against ZUS was built on 32 attacks and two aces.
PLDT held a 2-1 set advantage and was determined to not prolong the match anymore in the fourth frame.
However, ZUS was keen and showed determination after holding the set point advantage, 24-23.
Davison swung a cut a shot to tie the match at 24-all.
Erika Santos and Fiola Ceballos made back-to-back hits to finish the match, 26-24.
"Credits to ZUS, they really prepared, and they showed a different rotation. We were shocked in the first set, but thankfully we adjusted," head coach Rald Ricafort said.
PLDT will face Choco Mucho in the quarterfinals.
