Scorpions reach 264-6 at lunch as Harpy Eagles close in on victory

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica Scorpions were 264-6 at lunch in search of an improbable 489 runs for victory against Guyana Harpy Eagles on Saturday's fourth and final day of the regional first-class match at Sabina Park.

The Scorpions still trail by 225 runs with two sessions remaining and four wickets in hand.

The scores are Guyana 339 & 193-3 decl and Jamaica 44 & 264-6.

Left-hand opener Kirk McKenzie, who was on a century overnight, is unbeaten on 147.

Pacer Ronaldo Alimohamed, who claimed six wickets in the first innings, has been the most penetrative bowler with 3-42 as the Harpy Eagles close in on victory.

Resuming on the final morning on 179-3, the Scorpions lost Javelle Glenn (14), Brad Barnes (25) and Aldaine Thomas (6) as Alimohamed and left-arm spinners Veerasammy Permaul and Gudakesh Motie each took a wicket.
