Solomon stays eligible after immediate KOVO Draft application withdrawal — UAAP

MANILA, Philippines — Questions were raised regarding NU Lady Bulldogs Alyssa Solomon's amateur status in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament after she applied for the Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) Asian Quota Draft.

As a response, the UAAP Board of Managing Directors said in a statement on Tuesday that Solomon remains eligible in the UAAP after her immediate withdrawal of her application at the Korean league.

"The University Athletic Association of the Philippines Board of Managing Directors, after due deliberation, confirmed that National University student-athlete Alyssa Solomon remains eligible to compete in the UAAP," wrote the UAAP.

"While the BMD noted that Solomon did apply and was included in the draft list of the 2025 Korean Volleyball Federation Asian Quota Draft, her subsequent action in immediately withdrawing her application allowed her to continue competing in the ongoing UAAP Season."

Solomon and the Lady Bulldogs just swept the Season 87 first round games after outlasting the UST Golden Tigresses in five sets last Sunday.

The 6-foot-2 Solomon banged 24 points as NU stayed undefeated at 7-0.
