US-based Jaramillo enjoys debut at Caymanas Park

Renowned US-based rider Emisael Jaramillo made a highly anticipated debut at Caymanas Park on Saturday, December 7, 2024, although he didn’t quite get the winning start he had hoped for.
With an impressive 1,772 wins, 1,382 seconds, and 1,049 thirds from 9,195 starts, earning a staggering US$54,873,401 so far in his career, Jaramillo’s credentials precede him. Despite not riding a winner on his debut, the accomplished rider was upbeat about his experience.
“It is a nice feeling riding in Jamaica for the very first time,” Jaramillo exclaimed.
“The people have been wonderful; the racetrack is very beautiful. I mean, everything has been wonderful. I like it here,” he told the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide.
Jaramillo was particularly impressed with the Caymanas Park racetrack, noting its unique characteristics.
“The racetrack here is big, and it’s very different from the ones overseas. The racetrack here is fast; it’s good, and I like it. I like the speed,” he stated.
The warmth and hospitality of the Jamaican people also left a lasting impression on Jaramillo. “The people here are the best. They are very nice. I would definitely come back here to ride.”
Although Jaramillo didn’t ride a winner on his debut, his enthusiasm for the Jamaican racing experience is a testament to the island’s growing reputation as a premier racing destination.
