WATCH: Funeral for Wellesley Bolt, father of Usain Bolt, now underway
TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Mourners gathered on Sunday at the Falmouth Seventh Day Adventist Church for the thanksgiving service honouring the life of Wellesley Bolt, father of sprint sensation Usain Bolt.
Bolt was in attendance alongside his mother, Jennifer Bolt, his partner Kasi Bennett, and children Olympia, Thunder and Saint Leo. They, along with other family members, occupied the front rows in shades of powder blue.
Government officials were also in attendance, including Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Horace Chang, Sport Minister Olivia Grange, and former prime minister Bruce Golding, among other officials.
Wellesley Bolt died on March 31, 2025 after a lengthy illness. He was 68.
